Call for Papers

All interested people are invited to send items to the XVIII Mexican Congress of Artificial Intelligence, COMIA 2026, on research work derived from theses or projects, completed or under way.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

COMIA 2026 will receive written work in English and the best accepted articles will be published in a volume of Communications in Computer and Information Science of the prestigious editorial Springer.

In addition, there will be an option to present works written in Spanish and the best accepted articles in this language will be published in a special issue of the magazine Research in Computing Science.

The work can be theoretical or practical research, completed or in process, directed at the academy or industry. The topics of interest are all areas of artificial intelligence, including, but not limited to:

  •   Expert systems and knowledge-based systems
  •   Representation, acquisition and management of knowledge
  •   Multiagent and distributed IA systems
  •   Smart organizations
  •   Generative artificial intelligence

Guide for Authors

The articles may be written in English or Spanish, not more than 12 pages and will be presented in the Springer format. Please download the corresponding MSOffice Word or LaTeX2e template:

The work must be sent without names of the authors, secondment and / or self-references to perform a double blind review.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.

If an article is accepted, the authors undertake to register at the conference and present the accepted work. Although the work is sent in English, the presentations can be made in English or Spanish. The registration cost will be fully paid for each item that is accepted.

The presentation of accepted works may be made as an oral or poster presentationdepending on the instructions received in the notification mail.

The best articles accepted, written in English, will be published in a volume of Communications in Computer and Information Science of the editorial Springer, indexed publication on Scopus.

Other works accepted, written in Spanish or Englishwill be published as a special issue of the magazine Research in Computing Science, regular publication with ISSN, indexed in Latindex and DBLP.

Note: Articles not registered or registered to the deadline shall be removed from the memoirs of the congress.

Guide for Accepted Authors

If your work has been accepted, consider the following information for the preparation of the final version of the articles, the presentation of works and registration.

Deadline for sending final versions and registration: 08 May 2026.

Preparation of Final Version of Articles
  1. The sources of the final version (camera ready) can only be: .doc / .docx for files in Word o .zip for projects in LaTeX (including a .tex, .cls, .sty, images, etc.).
  2. The extension of the articles should be between 8 and 15 pages, including annexes and references.
  3. To be able to publish the article, the final version must meet the requested format and use the corresponding templates (download templates), verifying that the minimum guidelines are met:
    • The final article should include names, attachments and mail of the authors*
    • The summary should be up to 250 words
    • Include title, summary and keywords
    • If acronyms are used, the first time they are explained
    • All appointments must have a reference and vice versa
    • Do not mention ideas or work of others without reference
    • All tables, figures and equations must be numbered and must be mentioned or explained in the text
  4. The final version should take into account all comments from the reviewers.
  5. Follow the following diagram and make sure to include all requested files as appropriate. The sent files must be named using the ID number of the article. Example: 023.zip or 023.docx.

  1. The work was accepted for publication in one of the following two options:
    • Volume in Springer CCI: the articles must be written in English, including the figures and tables.
    • Special issue in RCS magazine: the articles must be written in English or Spanish.
  2. Up the article's final files on the CMT system, clicking on the 'Create Camera Ready Submission' option.

Important: It is the responsibility of the authors to verify that the names and titles of the works are correctly written, as they will appear in both the publications and the participation constances.

Presentation of Work

He recalls that COMIA 2026 is present and registration implies that at least one author will come to present the article.

The following are some important aspects of the presentation of work.

(a) Oral presentation:

  • The authors of the articles accepted in this form must present their work in the Spanish.
  • The date and time allocated for the submission of articles may be consulted at the Agenda days before the event.
  • The slides may be in English or Spanish.
  • The presentations will have a maximum duration of 10 minutes plus a 5-minute question round.
  • The first slide shall use the following template. The rest of the slides can be in free format.

IMPORTANT: The author is reponsible to carry his USB presentation on the day of the event.

(b) POSTER:

  • The authors of the articles accepted in this form must present their poster on Spanish.
  • The date and time allocated for the submission of posters can be consulted at the Agenda days before the event.
  • The poster can be written in English or Spanish.
  • The poster dimensions are 84.1cm x 118.9cm (A0 format).
  • During the presentation the best poster will be evaluated, so it is important to use the template below and meet all the criteria detailed in it.
  • At the beginning of the session, a 1-minute quick presentation per poster will be made; therefore each author will have to send a slide (.ppt / .pptx) that will explain the poster in general.
  • The slide will be sent through the CMT system, along with the final files of the article.

 

IMPORTANT: The author is responsible for printing and carrying the poster on the day of the event.

Registration and Registration Payment

If you have more than one item accepted, you must pay a registration fee for each item.
